Cohen & Buckmann Welcomes Attorney Sherrone Torres, Expanding Executive Compensation and Employment Law Practices

By Sandra Cohen ·

We are pleased to welcome attorney Sherrone Torres as a senior associate. Torres advises on high-value corporate transactions and designing, negotiating and implementing programs for executives, employees, partners and board members. She will contribute her significant experience to the firm’s executive compensation and employment law departments.

Torres joins Cohen & Buckmann from an international Am Law 100 firm, where she counseled public and private companies on complex mergers, acquisitions, initial public offerings (IPOs) and spin-offs. She handles executive employment agreements, equity plans, severance, retention and deferred compensation arrangements, and assists clients with compliance issues under Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.

“Sherrone has an impressive background and nuanced understanding of how executive pay decisions play out in major deals and what they mean for long-term business strategies,” Cohen & Buckmann co-founder and managing partner Sandra Cohen said. “Her versatility and cross-industry experience make her a natural fit for our growing team.”

Torres earned her J.D. from the New York University School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College. She is admitted to practice in New York and Georgia.

“Joining this team of highly sought-after sophisticated practitioners is an exciting opportunity to continue working on nuanced matters in the executive compensation and employment space,” Torres said. “I look forward to helping our clients navigate the most complex and novel intersections of compensation strategy and corporate growth.”
