Cohen & Buckmann, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of a new attorney to its experienced team. Zahava Blumenthal has joined Cohen & Buckmann as Senior Counsel. The law firm, which celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2021, has grown to six attorneys admitted to practice in five states including Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.
Blumenthal, who will be based in the Firm’s New York location, is an experienced executive compensation and employee benefits adviser who provides trusted counsel to employers and executive leadership. She has significant experience developing and implementing equity compensation programs and advising on sophisticated tax aspects of incentive programs. Blumenthal’s practice area includes a special focus on corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and initial public offerings. In addition to representing public and private companies, she counsels executives on complex financial arrangements, such as carried interests, as well as separation packages and consulting and advisory arrangements.

Prior to joining Cohen & Buckmann, Blumenthal was Counsel at the Canadian law firm, Torys LLP. She also held associate positions with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Blumenthal earned her B.A. from Barnard College and her J.D. from Columbia Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
