Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Attorney

Lauren Watson focuses her practice on executive compensation and employee benefits matters, advising public and private companies on significant corporate transactions. Lauren helps clients identify and address potential liabilities in compensation and benefits arrangements, including issues under Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.

Lauren also advises leadership teams and senior executives on the design, negotiation and implementation of compensation arrangements, including employment and severance agreements, and cash- and equity-based incentive programs.

Before joining Cohen & Buckmann, Lauren was an associate in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice groups at Jenner & Block LLP and, subsequently, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP.

Before her legal career, Lauren served as a U.S. Air Force E-3 AWACS pilot. She deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, flew more than 340 combat flight hours, held several command leadership positions, received the Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Aerial Flight, and retired as a Captain (O-3) in 2019.
