Cohen & Buckmann Named to 2026 Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

By Sandra Cohen ·

Cohen & Buckmann has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000 list, which recognizes the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

For more than 40 years, Inc. lists have recognized independent businesses during significant periods of growth, including companies that went on to become some of the country’s best-known brands. For Cohen & Buckmann, the recognition comes during a milestone year, as the firm is celebrating its 10th anniversary of advising companies, executives, fiduciaries, boards and entrepreneurs on complex employee benefits and executive compensation issues.

“We started Cohen & Buckmann because we wanted to build a firm around the kind of work we love and the people we like working with,” said managing partner and co-founder Sandra Cohen. “Ten years later, this recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects not only our growth, but the strength of the client relationships, professional trust and firm culture that made that growth possible.”

When Sandra Cohen and Carol Buckmann founded the firm in 2016, they set out to bring the caliber of counsel associated with major Wall Street firms to a broader range of companies and executives nationally. The firm has grown by focusing on a niche area of law that is central to business decisions, leadership transitions, transactions, retirement plans and workforce strategy. Cohen & Buckmann’s work spans executive compensation, employee benefits, employment law, ERISA fiduciary governance, tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, equity and incentive arrangements, and benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions.

“We have learned that growth is not just about getting bigger,” Carol Buckmann said. “It is about understanding your role and staying focused on how you can coordinate with executives, HR and plan fiduciaries to satisfy their needs and provide practical solutions to their problems.”

Cohen & Buckmann ranked No. 2809 nationally, with 213% three-year revenue growth.
