Cohen & Buckmann founding partner Carol I. Buckmann is set to moderate an upcoming webinar on ERISA’s 50th anniversary, hosted by the Worldwide Employee Benefits (WEB) Network and co-sponsored by Cohen & Buckmann.
The complimentary webinar, titled “Retirement Saving, Pensions, and ERISA at 50: Where Do We Go From Here?” will take place on Sept. 18 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. ET.
J. Mark Iwry, a nonresident senior fellow of the Brookings Institution, a visiting scholar at the Wharton School, and former senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury for national retirement and healthcare policy, will take the stage to share his perspective on current and future developments and proposed reforms to strengthen the United States retirement system.
Iwry will address questions such as:
● After a half-century, what is ERISA’s most important unfinished business, what has been its key inflection point, and why does ERISA need to change?
● Is SECURE 3.0 on the horizon, and what might it include?
● Is this the start of an explosive growth spurt for 401(k)s?
● Will state-based automatic IRA programs reshape saving in America, and is a nationwide auto-IRA coming next?
Questions can be sent to Buckmann in advance of the program at carol@cohenbuckmann.com.
