New York City Bar Webinar: Retirement Plan Options for Small Businesses
Thursday, February 8, 2024
10:00 am - 11:30 am EST
Free for Members | $15 for Non-Members
Studies show that Americans are not saving enough for retirement, and this retirement savings gap is greater for employees of small businesses. Many small business owners are uncertain how to adopt plans or are afraid of assuming fiduciary responsibility.
Carol Buckmann will be moderating a 90 minute New York City Bar Association webinar for small businesses and their advisers on February 8. The speakers will discuss state retirement savings plan mandates, employer-sponsored plan options that can provide larger benefits than state programs, and tax incentives available to small businesses adopting new plans. Topics will include safe harbor 401(k) plans, SIMPLE plans, and pooled employer plans (PEPs). The speakers, Chantel Sheaks, Vice President, Retirement Policy, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Kevin Gaston, Director, Plan Design and Institutional Consulting, Vestwell, will also address ways in which much of the fiduciary responsibility for employer-sponsored plans may be outsourced to professionals.
You can use this link or the button below to register for the webinar or get additional information. A limited number of attendees who come to City Bar headquarters (42 W. 44th St., New York City) will be permitted to attend as guests of the sponsoring committee.
