By Sandra Cohen ·

NEW YORK (December 6, 2023) - Cohen & Buckmann, P.C. is pleased to announce that Brett Good has joined Cohen & Buckmann as Senior Counsel, expanding the Firm’s experienced legal team in the area of Executive Compensation.  Cohen & Buckmann, which was founded in 2016,  has grown to 9 attorneys admitted to practice in seven states, including Florida, New York, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

Good, who will be serving clients across the United States, advises on executive compensation and employee benefits, with a special focus on technology and life sciences companies, from startups to publicly traded companies. He has a comprehensive background in designing and implementing equity compensation programs, as well as advising on the tax, corporate, and securities law aspects of these programs.

Good's practice area also includes advising clients on the management team and compensation aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and other financing events. In addition to representing private companies, Good also represents senior executives and company founders in negotiating employment and severance agreements and equity grants.

“We are thrilled Brett has joined Cohen & Buckmann,” said Sandra Cohen, Managing Partner. “Our firm growth has required us to continue to expand, and Brett is a perfect addition, with a superior skill set, well-aligned with our areas of focus, and a high level of client service."

“I am incredibly excited to join Cohen & Buckmann," Good adds. “The firm’s focus on executive compensation and employee benefits brings with it the expertise often found within the top national and international firms, along with the intimate client service experience that a boutique firm can uniquely deliver. The Firm is known for its work supporting other corporate law firms on matters relating to equity plans, deferred compensation, and ERISA, and that dovetails quite nicely with my prior law firm relationships.”

Prior to joining Cohen & Buckmann, Good was the founder and managing member of Sundra Law, which was acquired by Cohen & Buckmann. Previously, Brett was a senior associate at Goodwin Procter and Bass Berry & Sims. Good earned his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
